Deann Turner is someone our school can always count on. Her reliability and willingness to do what is needed make her an invaluable part of our team. Beyond being dependable, Deann takes the time to build meaningful relationships with students. She understands the importance of helping students feel supported, valued, and connected to the adults around them. The relationships she builds help create a positive environment where students feel comfortable and ready to learn. We appreciate Deann's consistency, dedication, and the care she shows our students each day!

Powerhouse Award: Sabrina Hewlett
Sabrina Hewlett has been doing so much to support our students in special education, and her hard work and dedication have certainly not gone unnoticed! Sabrina demonstrates a genuine commitment to doing whatever it takes to help each student be successful. She puts students' needs first and continually looks for ways to provide the support they need to grow and thrive. One of Sabrina's greatest strengths is her willingness to receive feedback and use it to improve her practice. She approaches opportunities for growth with an open mind and a desire to become even more effective in supporting students. Sabrina's dedication, flexibility, and commitment to student success embody what the Powerhouse Award represents.

Brenda Lopez is a wonderful example of what it means to be a dedicated and passionate educator. She truly believes that all students can learn, and she approaches her work with the mindset that every student has the ability to grow and succeed. Her passion for the Spanish language shines through in her teaching, and she works hard to help students develop an appreciation for the language and the opportunities it provides. In addition to her dedication to students, Brenda is a fantastic team player who is always willing to collaborate, support her colleagues, and contribute to the success of our school. We are grateful to have Brenda as part of our team

Chelsye Saulsberry stepped into her role at Lake View around the end of July—right in the middle of one of the busiest times of the school year. With schools preparing for a new year, deadlines approaching, and countless details needing to be taken care of, Chelsye stepped in and immediately began making an impact.
She has worked hard to learn the job, keep things moving, and support our staff and students. Beyond the responsibilities of her position, Chelsye has made an extra effort to make sure our staff and students are recognized and celebrated. She has helped bring an added level of appreciation and positivity to our school community.
Chelsye, we are so grateful that you chose to be part of the Lake View team. Thank you for jumping in, working hard, and making a difference from the very beginning. We are lucky to have you!

Tammy Reynolds has been a valued member of the Lake View team for a number of years and has served our school in multiple capacities. No matter what role she has been in, Tammy has consistently been a team player who is willing to do whatever is needed to help our school and our students.
This year, Tammy was asked to take on a new role teaching our Leopard Skills class. She stepped into this new responsibility and has been willing to take on the challenge and help make it successful.
One of the things we appreciate most about Tammy is that she is always available and willing to step in when she is needed. Whether it is filling in, helping a colleague, supporting students, or taking on something new, Tammy can be counted on.

We are excited to welcome back our Kitchen Manager, Makayla Kafton. She came to Lake View in the Spring of last year and will begin her first full year at Lake View.
"Hello Lake View! I am Makayla, the new kitchen manager here. I am so excited to be able to come back, I worked here the last of the school year. This will be my 6 year as a school cook and I am ready to come back and serve the best school lunch in the district!
A little about myself… I am a Box Elder High School graduate where I was on the Madrigals, swim team, and played the clarinet in band. I am a mom to a fun 5 year old who loves to keep us busy! We love to be outdoors in the summer, camping, swimming and just enjoying the sun! We also love movies, going to visit new places and just spending time together.
I am so excited to bring joy and fun to school lunch! The best part of any school is the kids that go there and I’m excited to get to know the kids more. We’ve have a great group of ladies who are ready to meet them as well. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns and I’ll try and help out as much as I can."

Jen came to us later in the year last year to help us with our English Language Learning students and has been a great asset to our team. We are excited to welcome her for another great year.
"I come to Box Elder with 19 years of elementary teaching and instructional coaching experience in Ogden City and believe that everything I learned in that time prepared me for my unique role as an ELL teacher. I started as an ELL para years ago and am blessed to now focus all of my time on meeting the unique needs of our second language learners.
When I’m not teaching, I spend time with and support my five nephews and one niece, all of whom are perfect in every way, no matter what their parents say! I also take care of my mom full-time after my dad recently died of lung cancer. It is a blessing to have extra time with her. "

We are excited to introduce Our new 4th Grade Teacher, Savannah Jarman. She comes to us with previous experience teaching in the upper grades and is new to our community.
"Hi! My name is Savannah Jarman and I’m so excited to be a part of the fourth grade team at Lakeview. I’ve previously taught sixth grade, but I’m looking forward to new adventures in 4th. When I’m not at school, you can find me trying to keep up with my two year old daughter. I can’t wait to start this school year!"
Joining our 2nd Grade team this year is Nancy Ulsh. She is coming to us from Discovery Elementary where she has done a phenomenal job for years.

I have been teaching for 30 years and have been part of the Box Elder School District since 2006. I earned my teaching degree from Weber State University and my master’s degree from Utah State University.
While I have taught grades 1–5 throughout my career, second grade has always held a special place in my heart. I love the curiosity, enthusiasm, and growth that make this year so special. There is something incredibly rewarding about watching students discover new strengths, build confidence, and realize just how much they are capable of accomplishing.
Outside of school, I enjoy working outdoors, biking, and traveling. My husband retired from Hill Air Force Base in 2025 and now teaches STEM at Lakeview. We are also proud parents of two adult children—our daughter, Alyssa, is a nurse practitioner in Washington, and our son, Bryant, works with computers in Ogden.
I have heard wonderful things about the teachers, students, and families at Lakeview, and I am excited to become part of such a supportive school community. I look forward to a wonderful school year and to getting to know my students and their families."

We would like to extend a warm welcome to our new secretary, Chelsye Saulsberry. She is new to the Brigham City community and is excited to become part of the Lake View family. Outside of work, she loves all things sports and enjoys coaching and cheering on student athletes. She is also the proud mom of two beautiful daughters, who keep her busy and inspire her everyday.
As we move into the upcoming school year, we would like to begin welcoming our new Lake View staff to the school and community. Amy Jo Summers will be our new assistant principal. She brings invaluable experience and insight to help us at Lake View and we are so fortunate to have her.

Outside of school I have a wonderful, supportive
family. I’ve been married for 34 years to my
husband Bart. We have 4 children and this year
added 2 grandbabies to our family!
We love to camp in the mountains and play lots of
card games. I enjoy playing golf as long as I don’t
keep score. You will always see me with a
book because I love to read!
